Kugel.
Kugel. I love the stuff.
It's rich. It's custard-y. It's totally yummy when eaten cold. And its fun to say: Kugel. Kuuuuuugel.
Kugel kugel kugel kugel kugel.
If you told me that I would choose the hottest day since moving into my apartment to have a baking fit -complete with a trip to the Farmers Market- I would say that that totally sounded like me.

I'm not a Stalker
Really. But if your going to sit in front of me on the bus and go on your computer, I can't help if I can see the reflection in the window. Everything is backwards, anyway. And I'm pretty sure that your Facebook is in Korean or some other like language, so there's no chance I'm going to figure out what your writing. I'm just having fun watching you look at that picture of the cute girl, then scroll down, start writing something, delete it, repeat.
I think you've done this about 4 times now. Mister, let me give you a word of advice. Just tell her you think she's cute and move on. Seriously.

I can't sleep
I am moving in a few days and my body seems to have realized it before my brain has, because I couldn't sleep at all last night, and now here I am again at 10:45ish, and I am not remotely tired. When I did finally fall asleep it was in the wee hours of the morning, and then I had crazy weird dreams/nightmares. Like the Joker kidnapped me. And I woke up in a tent at night with two other clowns. And then next thing I know I'm back at my house, but there are weird apocalyptic storms going on. And then I'm in a model sized version of chicago trying to take the train, but the city is flooded and I keep going underwater.
That's it. No more strawberry-banana Concreate Mixers before bed for me.

Plum Torte
While cleaning out my drafts on here, I discovered this Post from back in April. I'm happy 'cuz I really haven't had time to blog lately (oh, you noticed?) and now I have one more day before I start to feel guilty about neglecting my poor blog.
I made some Plum Torte for my dad the other day, and thought I'd share. Have you had Plum Torte? You really should try it. It's the easiest recipe, and makes a lovely sort of coffee cake, perfect for Sunday mornings...or Thursday afternoons..or, uh, Friday midnight snacks. Yeah.
I've been making this torte since I could reach the counter while standing on a stool. Its that easy. Everyone in my family has different favorite parts of this torte, the amazing crunch-y buttery top, the warm gooey soft plums, the the crumby, cake-like torte itself...the list goes on and on.
Alright. Let's get baking.

Me and Ice Cream Cakes
I made an ice cream cake the other day. It made me feel old.
You know why? 'Cuz I couldn't for the life of me think of how to make one. I had distinct memories of myself pushing up a stool to the counter(I started cooking at a tender age) and assembling lovely culinary masterpieces. Or at least they were for a 6-year-old.
And here I am, years and years later, and I can't even think of what to put in one, besides the obvious:

This was June
June was a crazy month for me. July is going to be insane. I'm not going to think about that now though. I'm going to sit at my dad's old high school desk - which is now mine- drink my all of my coffee, and look at photo's my sister and I took over the last month.
I say my sister because she took more than me, and better ones than me, and somehow my pictures always end up being food photos. Huh.
So I'm going to borrow some of hers to fill in the gaps.
