On Moving
I moved a few weeks ago.
There was lots of tape, permanent marker smell, and coffee drinking. One of the times I move, I'm going to actually take off work, and be organized.
And maybe pigs will fly on that day, too.
One thing I do know, I would never get done what I do if it wasn't for my epic circle of family and friends that always lend a hand. Over and over. Returning my phone when I forget it, then my camera... Thank you. I would defiantly be even more of a hot mess if it wasn't for you all. Love you.
This isn't as much a I'm Moving post, though. My blog is! I'm trying to go in a slightly different direction (more food) and just wasn't able to do what I wanted here anymore.
Thank you all so much for the support and I hope you like the new place as much as I do!
Tell everyone you know!
SO. Without further ado:

Ring in the New
Dear 2013;
Let's be friends.
I'll try and get used to writing "2013", but to be perfectly honest, it will be sometime in September when it finally feels natural. I wont even go into how much I liked writing 12 - - 12 all last month, how right it felt, how organized.
If you treat me as well as your older sibling did, well, I will be ridiculously spoiled again. So many friends made. So much learned. So much EATEN.
Every year I look back and find myself working/have worked jobs and doing things that I never thought I would because the idea scared me silly. Let's keep this up. It's growing on me.
My resolution list includes things like develop more recipes, be more kind(and patient, and understanding, and listen more, and..), and come up with some names for those drinks you keep making up. (what?)
I have quite a few things up my sleeve for you 2013 - some right at the cuff..some more towards the elbow..but just you wait. It's going to be an entertaining year if nothing else.
love,
Me

gobble gobble
There is a potato ricer on my desk and bay leaves in my purse.
I know this sounds like a typical Thursday morning to you, but something special is going on.
In aproximately 7.896 hours I will be surounded by some of my favoirte people in the world:
AND THEY WILL ALL BE CARRYING FOOD.
Lets just let that sink in for a minute.
Family, Friends, Food, Wine. PIE. This really is the best holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

No, the other left.
I have always had problems with left and right.
And stairs.
And Gravity.
My sister sent me this video the other day. If I had ever tried ballet, this would have been the result.
I hope no one ever lets this girl try un-even bars. I know first hand that they result in bloody noses and a swift end to the rest of "bring a friend" to Gymnasitcs Day.
Sigh. At least I can make make mac and cheese. And sushi.

"A Shiny Shoe is a Happy Shoe"
This is how my first day of classes began.
This is how it ended.
Off to figure out how to shine crocs. (you heard me.)

Happy Birthday Julia!
She told America that it was ok to mess up in the kitchen...in ways she actually reminds me of Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus ("Make mistakes! Get Messy!") I love her outlook on life, and how to approach cooking.
"Never apologize!" Always rings out in my head when I think of her.
She also taught me how to cook on hot summer days:
Happy Birthday Dear!

Made me smile:
That pretty much sums up my life since as far back as I can remember; I just realized how appropriate my "Sara Pooh" nickname has been.

Day 9: Big
I got good and stuck on this one, dears. I think I'm trying to put too much thought into these, and now I'm weeks behind and its almost the end of the month..bear with me, I'll try to get several up over the next few days!
The bow that came on my Birthday Basket that my sister(and family) put together for me.

Day 8: Lunch
Every once and a while when I get to work one of the guys has made a taco spread for us. And as you can see, these are the real deal, right down to the lime wedge that you squeeze over the top. No dairy products in sight, and I don't even - gasp! - miss them. I'm going to miss this and the guys, though.

Day 7: Art
This is on the wall of a favorite little Bakery/Cafe/restaurant that is just down the street from my Apartment. It was started by a Swedish Widow, and has amazing cinnamon rolls and bottomless coffee. My kinda place.
Following the last post:
When ever I open my mail box, I picture that scene in Shop around the Corner, where Margaret Sullavan is checking to see if her "Dear Friend" has replied.
I think I need a James Stewart in my life. What do you think?
Day 6: Empty
I haven't kept up on this like I wanted to, because I got stuck on this day. Empty? There is not much in my life right now that is empty. I miss my family, but wasn't about to put up a picture of that..
My fridge, closet, heart, head, coffee cup, list of good friends, and tooth paste tube are all pretty full right now. So this is the only thing that I came across.
Mind you, I'm not bemoaning the fact that I rarely get real mail. Really.

Day 5: On the Floor
Something has happened since I moved in with a bunch of girls from work. It's weird and no one at home is going to believe me, but I have gotten so much better at cleaning. See that floor in my closet? nothing on it. And it's been like that for over a week.
On a side note, this having a walk-in closet and dishwasher is really spoiling me.
