There! I'm already getting more productive.
I will do those dishes in the sink that I left the other night. I made some fabulous lasagna and then went to bed, leaving my kitchen in a bit of a state of shock. I could hear it calling me indigently as I stumbled off to bed: 'And where do you think you are going?! Come back here and clean me up! I hate to be left a mess. Thanks for the lovely new butter dish, but don't think you can be buying me off with presents. I'm smarter kitchen than that.'
And She is.
I will also email and write letters to the twelve hundred and three people that I have been horrible at keeping in touch with. You know who you are. I love you and I'm sorry that written communication is not a strong point of mine.
I will hang pictures on my walls so I can see the beautiful smiling faces of all the wonderful sassy crazy people in my life.
And I will make this sandwich for lunch:
Cheddar and apples. Soooo good man.
Red onions and cheddar and apples and ham.
Crunchy. Sweet. Bright. Savory. Warm.
Mmmm. Tastes like fall to me.
Autumn Grilled Ham and Cheese
Start with a favorite bread. (a nice Italian white is what I had)
Spread the insides lightly with mayo.
Layer the ham, cheese, onions and sliced apple.
Slather butter on the top and bottom.
Grill it until brown and toasty and gooey and yummy and amazing.
